Eid Al-Adha or "Festival of Sacrifice" is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims Worldwide to cemmemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Ismail) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead.
Eid Al-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the 12th and the last Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Ismalic calendar. Eid al-Adha celebrations start after the Hajj, when Muslims worldwide descend from Mount Arafat after the pilgrimage.
Eid-ul-Adha 2011 in Pakistan celebrated with much enthusiasm and fervor and Muslims from all walks of life can be seen adorned in beautiful new clothes, visiting the mosques to attend Eid prayers and exchanging greetings of "Eid Mubarak!"

Eid Al-Adha is considered to be a very special celebration for Muslims. It teaches us patience and sacrifice. It also teaches us to give charity to the poor to bridge the wide gap between the rich and the poor and strengthen the social fabric of the society.
